    I've been a customer of The Flames since they took over the old Bob's Big Boy on Winchester avenue 30+ years. I've been to their Milpitas, Downtown SJ and Santa Teresa locations over the years. The service has always been very good, and the servers are attentive for the most part, so I'm not going to complain, because there is nothing to complain about. I will say this, THEY HAVE THE BEST MONTE CRISTO SANDWICH! Well the best in my opinion, but that's what I'm doing here, stating MY opinion. It's hard to find the sandwich, let alone a good one. I've found 1 in Morgan Hill and it was terrible! Who puts this sandwich on waffles? It might be a novelty, but it was enough to make me not want to return. I found 1 in Gilroy, they didn't add the powdered sugar and gave me jelly instead of jam. As big as Salinas is and nobody's got one on their menus. I haven't looked in Hollister, I won't hold my breath. The only thing missing from their menu is the seafood omelette. IDK when it went away, but that was my next go to meal there. C'est La Vie.

    Hey there Party People Some times you just want a good old fashion diner experience...pull yourself up to the counter have that black cup of coffee and just soak up the atmosphere. Flames is that diner The food is always big and tasty weather you are going for that stick to your ribs breakfast or a ginormous salad or sandwich. My hubby and I went for breakfast omelets this time and it was great We just couldn't pass up the Garlic Bread with feta cheese as well as the Potato Skins. Next time we are definitely going to do the lunch side of the menu
